If One Day.. | Amalgamations of Peter Paul

If one day you feel like crying..
call me.

I don't promise you that I will make you laugh..
But i can cry with you.

If one day you want to run away..
don't be afraid to call me.
I don't promise to ask you to stop..
But i can run with you.

If one day you don't want to listen to anybody..
call me..
I promise to be very quiet.

But..
If one day you call and there is no answer..
Come fast to see me..

Perhaps i need you.

I Look To You

Faith | Amalgamations of Peter Paul

I Look To You

As I lay me down
Heaven hear me now
I'm lost without a cause
After giving it my all

Winter storms have come
And darkened my sun
After all that I've been through
Who on earth can I turn to?

I look to you
I look to you
After all my strength is gone
In you I can be strong

I look to you
I look to you
And when melodies are gone
In you I hear a song, I look to you

About to lose my breath
There's no more fighting left
Sinking to rise no more
Searching for that open door
And every road that I've taken
Led to my regret
And I don't know if I'm gonna make it
Nothing to do but lift my head

I look to you
I look to you
After all my strength is gone
In you I can be strong

I look to you
I look to you
And when melodies are gone
In you I hear a song, I look to you

My levee's have broken
My walls have come
Tumbling down on me
The rain is falling
Defeat is calling
I need you to set me free

Take me far away from the battle
I need you to shine on me

I look to you
I look to you
After all my strength is gone
In you I can be strong

I look to you
I look to you
And when melodies are gone
In you I hear a song, I look to you

I look to you
I look to you

Fix You

Friday, June 8, 2012

All it takes is for one person to believe in what you can do.
Resilience | Amalgamations of Peter Paul

"Fix You"

When you try your best, but you don't succeed
When you get what you want, but not what you need
When you feel so tired, but you can't sleep
Stuck in reverse

And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can't replace
When you love someone, but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

And high up above or down below
When you're too in love to let it go
But if you never try you'll never know
Just what you're worth

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

Tears stream down on your face
When you lose something you cannot replace
Tears stream down on your face
And I...

Tears stream down on your face
I promise you I will learn from my mistakes
Tears stream down on your face
And I...

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

"Friend" | Amalgamations of Peter Paul

There comes a time in life when you will run out of options, but one will always remain open no matter what; burn the bridge, and leave everything behind as the only way to keep trekking forward.

Goodbyes are just too hard to manage, like it rips your heart apart and you're paralyzed beyond explanation.

If you are reading this, you know who you are, this is the end of the road of this twisted relationship, but you will remain a perfect memory in my world. And in my mind, there is nothing more precious than what we shared.

Thank you for the temporary strength you gave me, it's enough for me to carry on.

Take care,

"You Were There"

Time passes, the world changes
But I'm still the same ole' kid
And your jokes still bring me laughter
As if you still were here
And it hurts
When I smile
'Cause my heart still remembers
When you were around

'Cause you were there
When no one was
Just when I thought nobody cared
You showed me love
'Cause you were my friend
You always told me
And I am still here
Because you were there

So precious, small treasures
A time when truth was innocent
True friendship, was all we were after
A place where kids could still be kids
And it hurts
But I'm glad
'Cause at least I was blessed
To have you as my friend

[HOOK]

You're my best friend
There are no accidents
God has a plan for everyone
And he brought you in my life
To show me what a good friendship was

"Guardian" | Amalgamations of Peter Paul

I've been putting off blogging for quite sometime now. With all the chaos that's been going on, I can't hold anything in my head for more than 2 seconds.

There are times when I just want to go and run away somewhere far where nobody knows me.

But there's no escaping heartache. I am human too, and no matter how many things I do to occupy my mind, this feeling of loneliness is always going to haunt me no matter where I go, no matter how I try to pretend I'm okay.

Appa has been an angel. I've said it several times, he's the only stable relationship I ever had, and he's the one keeping me sane these days.

Yesterday, I spent the whole day with only this on my playlist.

Thank you, Alanis.

And thank you, God.

In times I feel most vulnerable, you always send something to remind me You're there and that I'm not alone. But this solitary world becomes just too unbearable sometimes that even crying becomes a blissful solitude.

Is this all the journey I have in life? I know everybody's telling me to trust You every time doubt creeps in, but I feel like my time is running out, and I can't seem to hold on to that happiness. Surely, there's something greater for me, isn't there? Please show me, before I lose all the good I have left in me.

The Hillsong Inspiration

Darlene Zschech - http://www.darlenezschech.com/ | Amalgamations of Peter Paul

The Hillsong Church in Sydney, Australia, is a congregation of 17,000 plus members. After two decades, Hillsong branched into the gospel music industry. Soon followed music pastor Reuben Morgan's solo debut, World Through Your Eyes, released in November of 2004, and a slew of other releases, including Unified Praise, Jesus Is My Superhero, and Christmas, featuring Hillsong starlet Darlene Zschech as well as Brooke Fraser.

The worship team at Hillsong Church is led by Darlene Zschech, writer of "Shout To The Lord." Darlene works with a dedicated group of singers and musicians who week in and week out give their time and energy to lead their church into an atmosphere of worship. It is this dedication that is reflected on the albums.

The songs, "Through It All" which Darlene sang, and another one entitled, "Still" are my two 'Epiphanies' because the story about how I came to know Hillsong through these two songs is one of faith that I truly hold dearly in the heart.

In the place where I used to rent internet service to communicate with my sister, where they always played loud and wild music, one day played a song that struck a chord. The melody stuck in my head and I found myself humming to it until I got home.

The next opportunity I got to go online I tried Googling words I could remember in the lyrics. A Google result directed me to a YouTube video.

Unperturbed, despite a noisy internet cafe, I held the headset closely to my ears and basked in the words of worship. And as tears flowed, a deep sense of safety and security seemed to hover and descend on me like an overwhelmingly comforting embrace that lifted sadness and worries away. It didn't matter if I was in tears in a public cafe. Nothing mattered because I am carried in 'everlasting arms'.

It's been many years since I've gotten to know Hillsong, but I wish I had known them sooner. And until now, these songs "Through It All" and "Still" are the two songs I go to for comfort during troubled times. Today, is no different.

I am writing this blog with the hope that one day, Darlene Zschech can read my message to her. Thank you, Ms. Darlene Zschech for the tremendous light of inspiration and comfort you have showed me, as I'm sure many others.

My troubled times are nothing to the sacrifice made out of faithfulness He did for all of us. And your songs brightly reflect that truth. Thank you for the gift of songs you are sharing to the world through the wonderful gift that the Lord has so graciously given you and your team.

May you reach the farthest corners of earth to spread the word of God's everlasting arms and mend broken faith and shattered hopes. May God bless you always.

Love and prayers,

Lechon | Amalgamations of Peter Paul

We celebrated a great milestone in eConfluence's history on the 1st of April. Our first year anniversary beach party was not short of fun specially because important friends were there to share the moment with us.

The beach was very welcoming and it was a great summer Sunday to celebrate.

I had a speech prepared but the next hut was too noisy having the videoke machine at full blast that I had to shorten my prepared speech. But this was the full one I had wanted to share.

Speech | Amalgamations of Peter Paul

*****
I am very happy for this opportunity to be with all of you today to celebrate eConfluence's first year anniversary.

Thank you for coming and sharing this celebration with us.

eConfluence started its unofficial operations on January of 2011. And as you saw in the video, our offices were places that had a table and power outlet; coffeeshops, hotels, restos, it didn't matter where it was because the business is first and foremost hardwork, and passion-driven. A system was slowly built from the ground up with only two people, the manager, and the human resource officer.

And I, along with a very few number of home-based transcriptionists worked tirelessly with them. We were later on joined by our Senior Editor.

Looking back now, it is easy to see that these same people are the ones who are still with us today. These are the people who have always been very patient and maintained a positive attitude through thick and thin and through ups and downs.

On April 14th of 2011, together with the launching of the website, we decided to officially mark that eConfluence's date of birth. And that's what we're here celebrating today.

My job as the IT Specialist is constantly compromised because of the fact that we're always short-handed, yet, I've never been happier to lose sleep or break limbs for the well-being of the company because I can see we are getting somewhere greater than what everyone might have expected.

Though it is note-worthy to say that while some still doubt our capacity to run a successful business, I am certain that this only pushes us to do better and achieve even more, always keeping the passion, drive and motivation close in our minds and hearts to not only give the best of what we can give, but to do it consistently, one day at a time and keeping in mind that we should never work as individuals, and rather work, always as a team.

Today, i am proud to say that through tough economic times, we have proven that sheer number of employees isn't always the only way to make money, but finding and keeping the right people with the right attitude for and in the company might just be as valuable or even more valuable.

As we mark our first year anniversary milestone today, I would like to personally thank each and everyone of you who in one way or another have given encouragement and support to keep our heads up despite through some tumultuous times we've gone through and to keep the company running as robust as we can.

To our workforce, always keep up the good job; and to everyone, this celebration today is for all of you. And I hope you all enjoy and have a good time with us. Thank you once again and have a great afternoon.

*****

The celebration ended with a wild videoke session and deflated party balloons.

Joseph Kony

Joseph Kony | www.amalgamationspp.com

Every once in a while we come across an advocacy too compelling to ignore, specially when it comes to matters of humanities.

There is a simple mission here, to make the name Joseph Kony, a household name.

He might as well become some kind of a celebrity, if it was the only way for the world to know him so he can be stopped from abducting children making them soldiers or sex slaves. Over the course of 20+ years, he has abducted over 30,000 children.

And as if Kony's crimes aren't bad enough, he is not fighting for any cause, but only to maintain his power in his army called "Lord’s Resistance Army" or more commonly known as the LRA.

The perversity of Kony's crimes made him number 1 in the International Criminal Court's list of the world's worst criminals.

I urge you to not only listen to this story, but to also take some kind of action to put a stop to this monstrosity, not just because we have a duty to protect the children of the world, but also because it's the right thing to do.

Appa: My Beacon of Inspiration | www.amalgamationspp.com

It's been an unbelievably long blog hiatus and I terribly miss blogging!

I looked at my last entry -- December 5, just a few weeks before Christmas. Where do I even begin to start writing again?

Well, the biggest reason of the extended hiatus was tropical storm Sendong that drowned the city of Cagayan de Oro. Between helping with the volunteer works, trying to continue to keep working, fetching water from far sources, it's been really tough trying to balance everything much less to even try and get a decent sleep while friends are going crazy looking for their drowned relatives and friends.

Many things had to be done because of the wide impact of the storm.

Thousands died.

All the while, I watched heroism at work coming from familiar faces, persons I see everyday right across the street, simple neighbors who stood up and did anything to help.

It was a rare opportunity that I am very honored to be able to see and be a part of, where people opened their homes to strangers whose houses drifted away with the raging flood leaving them only the clothes they wore.

I felt the strength of prayers binding everyone to hold on because there's hope pouring in from all over the globe. It was surreal.

Three months later, people have picked up the pieces and have begun reconstructing their lives. The loss of a friend, or a family member is heart-breaking, but people here have opened their eyes and have seen that despite the difficulties and the trials, hope is not something that can be washed away by a destructive flood or storm.

It is something far greater and bigger.

And for me, through it all, one great bestfriend opened the door to keep the positive attitude despite bad things that can happen. A bestfriend who listens and does not talk back, who loves unconditionally and with no limit, who looks at me everyday without fail having a sense of belonging and connection.

And that's really all I need to get by any storm.

Stay inspired! ♥

The Jonah Mowry Inspiration

Jonah Mowry | www.amalgamationspp.com

This is Jonah Mowry. You'd want to know his story.

I was deeply moved by his video. At 14 years old, he showed bravery in sharing his story to the world, recounting how difficult bullying was for him and revealing his struggles with it. I was watching his eyes all throughout the video and saw pain and loneliness.

I did not have to see exactly how he was bullied, what I saw was far worse. I saw how broken he was. No one ever deserves to be treated like that. It's sad. The fact that he couldn't use his voice, and had to come up with flashcards, could the message be any clearer?

I did a little research and was relieved to find out the amount of support Jonah has been getting is overwhelming.

It's a great message of hope for the down-trodden. I can only imagine someone who's going through the same thing he did, taking comfort in the fact that they're not alone. Oppression doesn't have to be an option. One can put his/her voice out there. There's no reason to be alone if only one reaches out, just like Jonah did. Suicide is not the answer.

Jonah is doing very well and is happy.

He's also getting some counseling.

Share Jonah's video with your friends and spread the inspiration.

Life gets better for everyone. You just have to stick to it, and believe.

My Movie Review: 3 Idiots

3 Idiots | www.amalgamationspp.com

On a very strong recommendation from a good friend, I was curious to watch this one. This was my first time to watch an Indian film in full length, so I didn't want to have any expectations. But from what I heard, it broke all box-office records in India in its release.

The 3 Idiots is a 2009 Indian comedy film directed by Rajkumar Hirani, with a screenplay by Abhijat Joshi, produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. It was a loose adaptation of a novel called Five Point Someone, by Chetan Bhagat. 3 Idiots stars Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor, R. Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, Omi Vaidya, Parikshit Sahni and Boman Irani.

“School is not pressure cooker.”

Is a quote from Ranchoddas Chanchad, played by Aamir Khan, who enrolled in one of India’s finest engineering college called the Imperial College of Engineering (ICE), and challenged the traditional learning system of the institution.

His direct-to-the-point character pushed off most of his teachers who always saw things in one dimension.

Viru Sahastrabuddhe, played by Boman Irani, runs the school like a factory and treats learning as a competition.

His view was that “Life is a race. If you don’t run fast, you’ll get trampled.” In order not to get trampled on, students need to run fast. Those who cannot endure the pressure, either quit or lose and some even go as far as commit suicide.

Rancho's view and passion for learning made him see things in different perspectives. And since day one, he had become a pain in the ass not only to the director, but his teachers as well who disliked his idealogies that contradicted their traditional ways of teaching.

If Rancho wanted to pass his subject, he must stick to what the books say. These are situations easily observed in learning institutions we also have in the Philippines. This style of teaching will teach the students to “cram blindly” as the character of Ramalingam shows in the movie.

Students memorize the book without understanding what it means for the sake of getting “good grades" which defiles the purpose of learning. You can top your class yet end up unable to apply what you've learned, to the real world.

The movie also showed how the two courses namely, Engineering and Medicine were the only courses considered to be acceptable and that the “other” courses didn't matter if you wanted to be viewed as socially successful.

In the later parts, I thought it was fascinating and interesting how the movie came out emotionally strong to bring out the message that there are other courses out there, no matter how seemingly insignificant, can make one tremendously successful and live a happily fulfilled life.

“Do not chase success, be good in your field and success will chase you.” And the first step to do that I think, is to realize what you are most passionate about. That way you never get pushed into any negative pressure of doing things because you love what you’re doing.

The 3 Idiots is a movie worth watching not just for students, but the parents as well. It provides a perspective that not all professions that are considered “big” are what's going to necessarily give happiness to a person, that it must ultimately be giving in to one's interests and passions that one can live a happily successful and fulfilled life.

With that, I'm giving 3 Idiots, 4/5 Stars.

Meredith's Letter to Heaven

Meredith's Letter to Heaven | www.amalgamationspp.com

Since October 2006, this story came under a variety of titles, including "Going Postal," "Angels at the Post Office," "Angels Turn Up In Unexpected Places," and "This is a US Postal Service Story."
Some of you may know that our 14 year old dog, Abbey, died last month (8/23). The day after she died, my 4 year-old-daughter Meredith was crying and talking about how much she missed Abbey. She asked if we could write a letter to God so that when Abbey got to heaven, God would recognize her.

She dictated and I wrote:
Dear God,

Will you please take special care of our dog, Abbey? She died yesterday and is heaven. We miss her very much. We are happy that you let us have her as our dog even though she got sick. I hope that you will play with her. She likes to play with balls and swim before she got sick. I am sending some pictures of her so that when you see her in heaven you will know she is our special dog. But I really do miss her.

Love,
Meredith Claire

P.S.: Mommy wrote the words after Mer told them to her
We put that in an envelope with 2 pictures of Abbey, and addressed it to God/Heaven. We put our return address on it. Then Mer stuck some stamps on the front (because, as she said, it may take lots of stamps to get a letter all the way to heaven) and that afternoon I let her drop it into the letter box at the post office.

For a few days, she would ask if God had gotten the letter yet. I told her that I thought He had. Yesterday, for Labor Day, we took the kids to Austin to a natural history museum. When we got back, there was a package wrapped in gold paper on our front porch. Curious, I went to look at it. It had a gold star card on the front and said "To: Mer" in an unfamiliar hand.

Meredith took it in and opened it. Inside was a book by Mr. Rogers, When a Pet Dies. Taped to the inside front cover was the letter we had written to God, in its opened envelope (which was marked 'Return to Sender: Insufficient address'). On the opposite page, one of the pictures of Abbey was taped under the words "For Meredith." We turned to the back cover, and there was the other picture of Abbey, and this handwritten note on pink paper:
Dear Mer,

I know that you will be happy to know that Abbey arrived safely and soundly in Heaven! Having the pictures you sent to me was such a big help. I recognized Abbey right away.

You know, Meredith, she isn't sick anymore. Her spirit is here with me just like she stays in your heart young and running and playing. Abbey loved being your dog, you know. Since we don't need our bodies in heaven, I don't have any pockets! So I can't keep your beautiful letter. I am sending it to you with the pictures so that you will have this book to keep and remember Abbey.

One of my angels is taking care of this for me. I hope the little book helps.

Thank you for the beautiful letter. Thank your mother for sending it. What a wonderful mother you have! I picked her especially for you.

I send my blessings every day and remember that I love you very much. By the way, I am in heaven and wherever there is love.

Love,
God, and the special angel who wrote this after God told her the words.
According to Cary Clack of the San Antonio Express News, the tale is real. In mid-August 2006, the San Antonio family of Greg and Joy Scrivener and their three children suffered the loss of Abbey, their 14-year-old black and white dog. Driven by concern for their pet's future welfare, 4-year-old Meredith, the Scriveners' middle child, dictated the note quoted above to her mother, then enclosed it and two photos of the family dog in an envelope addressed "To: God in Heaven." This envelope, bearing the family's return address, was dropped into a mailbox at the Brook Hollow post office.

Two weeks later, the Scriveners found on their front porch a package wrapped in gold-colored paper and addressed "To: Mer." In the parcel, along with the letter from "God" quoted above, was a book by Fred Rogers (of TV's Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood fame), When a Pet Dies (a book that "helps children share feelings of the loss of a pet while offering reassurance that grieving is a natural, healing thing to do").

According to her mother, Meredith was comforted by the book and letter and was unastounded that God saw fit to write back. "She wasn't surprised because she had such faith that her letter was going to get to God." (The oldest of the Scrivener children, 6-year-old Andy, was impressed. He "thought it was pretty special his sister got a book from the angel," says his mom.

While Mrs. Scrivener considered asking at the post office about the package, she decided against it. "I kind of like not knowing," she said. "I don't know who took the time to do it, but it was an angel. We all think about doing these things, but no one takes the time to do it."

A picture of Steve Jobs on an iPad | www.amalgamationspp.com

This one I dedicate to a man who made such a huge difference in our lives.

The hard-driving executive pioneered the concept of the personal computer and of navigating them by clicking onscreen images with a mouse. In more recent years, he introduced the iPod portable music player, the iPhone and the iPad tablet. All of which changed how we consume content in the digital age.

"Steve's brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives," Apple said in a statement. "The world is immeasurably better because of Steve."

"Steve Jobs is one of the great innovators in the history of modern capitalism," New York Times columnist Joe Nocera said in August. "His intuition has been phenomenal over the years."

Steve left behind his wife of 20 years, Laurene, and four children, including one from a prior relationship.

"Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do," he told the Stanford grads in 2005.

"If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on."

Thank you, Steve for all the great things you created making our lives easier, you truly are an inspiration. Rest in peace.

Thank You

Hope | amalgamationspp.com

I saw the sunshine today, thank You for a great day.

As always, there was food on the table, thank You, I had something to eat when I got hungry.

Appa was especially quiet today and looked at me with loving eyes each time I passed by his cage. Thank You for giving me unconditional love unheard and unspoken.

Today was quiet and one when my head didn't want to explode on its own. Thank You for the strength, I was able to do everything I had to.

It was sad to watch the news, but I was praying all the while. You wouldn't give anyone anything that was unbearable. Thank You for the strength You have given the victims of the typhoon.

I'll lay myself in bed wondering what other wonderful blessings You'll bring tomorrow. I'm looking forward for them. Thank you for keeping me, my family and friends safe, and thank You for the hope and inspiration that I know You're giving to the victims of the typhoon. Thank You for keeping them alive.

Thank You, God, for this day.

The Story of the Doll and the White Rose

The doll and the white rose | amalgamationspp.com

This was another story I wanted to share with you guys. I did a little research online but didn't find anything about the author. But nonetheless I'm sharing this with the hopes that you'll get something very positive from it.
I was walking around in a store, when I saw a cashier hand this little boy some money back. The boy couldn’t have been more than 5 or 6 years old. The Cashier said, “I’m sorry, but you don’t have enough money to buy this doll.” Then the little boy turned to the old woman next to him, “Granny, are you sure I don’t have enough money?” The old lady replied, “You know that you don’t have enough money to buy this doll, my dear.” Then she asked him to stay there for just 5 minutes while she went to look around. She left quickly.

The little boy was still holding the doll in his hand. Finally, I walked towards him and I asked him who he wished to give this doll to. “It’s the doll that my sister loved most and wanted so much for Christmas. She was sure that Santa Claus would bring it to her.” I replied to him that maybe Santa Claus would bring it to her after all, and not to worry. But he replied to me sadly. “No, Santa Claus can’t bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there.” His eyes were so sad while saying this.

“My Sister has gone to be with God. Daddy says that Mommy is going to see God very soon too, so I thought that she could take the doll with her to give it to my sister.” My heart nearly stopped. The little boy looked up at me and said, “I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come back from the mall.” Then he showed me a very nice photo of him where he was laughing. He then told me, “I want mommy to take my picture with her so she won’t forget me. I love my mommy and I wish she doesn’t have to leave me, but daddy says that she has to go to be with my little sister.” Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly.

I quickly reached for my wallet and said to the boy. “Suppose we check again, just in case you do have enough money for the doll?” “OK,” he said, “I hope I do have enough.” I added some of my money to his without him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money. The little boy said, “Thank you God for giving me enough money!” Then he looked at me and added, “I asked last night before I went to sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that mommy could give it to my sister. He heard me!” “I also wanted to have enough money to buy a white rose for my mommy, but I didn’t dare to ask God for too much. But He gave me enough to buy the doll and a white rose. My mommy loves white roses.”

A few minutes later, the old lady returned and I left with my basket. I finished my shopping in a totally different state from when I started. I couldn’t get the little boy out of my mind. Then I remembered a local news paper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young woman and a little girl. The little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical state. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the life-sustaining machine, because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma.

Was this the family of the little boy?

Two days after my encounter with the little boy, I read in the newspaper that the young woman had passed away. I couldn't stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was exposed for people to see and make last wishes before her burial. She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest. I left the place, teary-eyed, feeling that my life had been changed forever. The love that the little boy had for his mother and his sister is still, to this day, hard to imagine.
Death cannot bind love simply because it knows no boundaries and can reach all the way through to heaven.

"Paid In Full"

"Paid in full." | amalgamationspp.com

I wanted to share this story I read years ago back in college that stuck with me. It teaches the lesson of, what you reap, you sow.
One day, a poor boy who was selling goods from door to door to pay his way through school, found he had only one thin dime left, and he was hungry. He decided he would ask for a meal at the next house. However, he lost his nerve when a lovely young woman opened the door. Instead of a meal he asked for a drink of water. She thought he looked hungry so brought him a large glass of milk. He drank it slowly, and then asked, “How much do I owe you?”

“You don’t owe me anything,” she replied. “Mother has taught us never to accept pay for a kindness.”

He said, “Then I thank you from my heart.”

As Howard Kelly left that house, he not only felt stronger physically, but his faith in God and man became stronger. He had been ready to give up and quit.

Year’s later that young woman became critically ill. The local doctors were baffled. They finally sent her to the big city, where they called in specialists to study her rare disease. Dr. Howard Kelly was called in for the consultation. When he heard the name of the town she came from, a strange light filled his eyes. Immediately he rose and went down the hall of the hospital to her room.

Dressed in his doctor’s gown he went in to see her. He recognized her at once. He went back to the consultation room determined to do his best to save her life. From that day he gave special attention to the case.

After a long struggle, the battle was won. Dr. Kelly requested the business office to pass the final bill to him for approval.

He looked at it, then wrote something on the edge and the bill. And it was sent to her room.

She feared to open it, for she was sure it would take the rest of her life to pay for it all. Finally she looked, and something caught her attention on the side of the bill. She began to read the following words:

“Paid in full with one glass of milk.” Signed, Dr. Howard Kelly.
All acts of kindness come back to you, some way, some how and some time. What you give is only half as important as how genuine your intention of giving is.

My Heart, Your Gift

My heart, your gift | amalgamationspp.com

Somewhere in a small province, there lived a young boy who would follow this route to school everyday: He has to cross rugged plains and pass along dangerous highway where vehicles recklessly drive by.

Across this highway, the boy would take a short cut, passing by the church every morning to say "Hi!" to God, and faithfully say his, "Good morning, God." A Priest was happy to observe this daily and found the sweet innocence uplifting.

"How are you John? Going to school?" "Yes, father," he would flash his innocent grin, and the priest would be touched. He was concerned about the boy and so one day he talked to John.

"From school," he advised "Do not cross the highway, you can pass through the church and I can accompany you to the other side of the road. That way I can see that you are home safe."

"Thank you father."

"Why don't you go home. Why do you stay in this church right after school?"

"I just want to say 'Hi' to my friend, God." And the priest would leave the boy to spend time beside the altar, talking to himself. One time, the priest hid behind the altar to listen to what the boy has to say to his Heavenly Father.

"You know my Math exam was pretty bad today, but I did not cheat although my seatmate was bullying me for notes. I ate one cracker and drank my water, papa had a bad season and all I can eat is this cracker.

Thank you for this! I saw a poor kitten who was hungry and I know how he feels so I gave my last cracker to him. Funny, but I am not that hungry.

Look, this is my last pair of slippers. I may have to walk barefoot next week, you see this is about to be broken. But it is okay, at least I am still going to school. Some say we will have a hard season this month, some of my classmates have already stopped going to school. Please help them get to school again, please God?

You know, mama hit me again, it is painful, but I know this pain will pass away, at least I still have a mother. God, you want to see my bruises? I know you can heal them, here, here and oh, blood. I guess you knew about this one, huh?

Please don't be mad at her, she is just tired and she worries for the food in our table and my schooling that is why she hits us. Oh, I think I am in love. There's this pretty girl in my class, her name is Anna. Do you think she will like me?

Anyway, at least I know you will always like me, I don't have to be anybody just to please you. You are my very best friend! Hey your birthday is two days from now! Aren't you excited? I am! Wait until you see, I have a gift for you. But it's a surprise! I hope you will like it! Oops, I have to go."

He stood up and calls out, "Father, father I'm finished talking to my friend. You can accompany me to the other side of the road now."

This routine happened everyday. John never failed. Father Mark shared this every Sunday to the people in the church because he has never seen such pure faith and trust in God, a very positive look at negative situations.

On Christmas day, father Mark was sick and couldn't make it to the Church, he was sent to the hospital. The church was left to devout Christian women who would chant the rosary so fast it was almost unrecognizable. They would not smile and seemed to always find faults in what others did. They were also very well-versed in cursing when irritated. They were kneeling, saying their rosary when John, coming from his Christmas party, excitedly dashing in.

"Hello God! I..."

"Shut up you obnoxious kid! Can't you see we're praying? Go away!"

Poor John was so terrified, "Where is father Mark? He is going to help me cross the street. But before that, I have to greet Jesus. It's His birthday, I have a gift right here."

He had tucked the gift inside his shirt, and just as he was about to show it, the old lady pulled him by his shirt and threw him out of the church.

"Go away or you'll get hurt!"

The boy had no choice but to cross the dangerous part of the road in front of the church.

As he was crossing, a fast moving bus was speeding by a blind curve.

The boy was protecting his gift inside his shirt, so he was not looking. There was so little time to run. He was hit, and John died on the spot.

Many people crowded the poor boy, lifeless and still.

Out of nowhere a tall man in a pure white shirt and pants, a face so mild and gentle, but with eyes full of tears. He came and carried the boy in His arms. He was crying. The curious bystanders nudged the man in white, and asked, "Excuse me sir, are you related to this child? Do you know this child?"

The man in white, His face mourning in agony, looked up and answered, "He was my best friend," was all he said. He took a badly wrapped gift in the bloody chest of the lifeless boy, and placed it near His heart.

He stood up and carried the boy away and they both disappeared in sight. Leaving the crowd wondering and curious.

On Christmas Eve, father Mark learned of the shocking news. He visited John's house, and wanted to talk to his parents and ask about the man in white.

"How did you know that your son died?" "A man in white brought him here," sobbed the mother.

"And what did he say?" Asked the priest.

The father answered, "He did not say anything. He was mourning. We do not know him and yet he was very lonely about our son's death, as if he knew our son very well. But there was something peaceful and unexplainable about him. He brushed my son's hair away from his face and kissed him on his forehead. Then he whispered something."

"What did he say?"

"He said to my boy," the father began, "Thank you for the gift. I will see you soon, you will be with me." The father of the boy continued, "And you know, for a while, it felt so wonderful. I cried, but I do not know why. All I know is I cried tears of joy. I could not explain it, but when that man left, something peaceful came over me. I felt a sense of love inside. I could not explain the joy in my heart. And I know my boy is in heaven now.

But tell me, father, who is this man that my son talks to everyday in your church, you should know because you're always there, except at the time of his death."

Father Mark suddenly felt tears welling in his eyes, with trembling knees, he murmurred, "At the church, he always talked to no one, but God."

Real Life Inspiration of Derek Redmond

Tormented by frustration, Derek Redmond | amalgamationspp.com

Almost two decades after the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, the Derek Redmond real life inspiration continues to spread around the world. The first time I saw his video two years ago was tough to watch.

Just like Derek, at some points in our lives, we break our hamstrings, falter and fall to the ground. "But how many of us would actually do what Derek Redmond did?" Would be a good question to ask.

I've gotten around to finally have the time to edit the video, but for the longest time, I wanted to blog about this for the simple truth that I think our whole lifetime is captured within this 4:47 video.

To Derek Redmond and his father, Jim Redmond, you personified the true definition of victory. It's when you persevere through people telling you to stop, not heeding even the most unbearable pain, to reach for that noble end with that one important inspiration in mind and become more than you can be.

Thank you, and may many others emulate your example of perseverance, courage, inspiration and love.

Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)

Jotta A. singing Amazing Grace | amalgamationspp.com

During times of sadness, I sit down and pray for healing and guidance. The moment I close my eyes, cover my ears and just open my heart, God makes His presence known through messages.

Messengers are anything or anyone, from family, close friends, or even complete strangers. Tonight, God sent me this message of amazing grace through this young boy.

I froze in my seat, closed my eyes and opened my heart as I listened. The boy's words weren't clear English, but I knew I clearly understood the message when tears started rolling down my cheeks.

Open your heart, let Him come in, and He'll heal you.

Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)

Amazing grace
How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now I'm found
Was blind, but now I see
'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed
My chains are gone
I've been set free
My God, my Savior has ransomed me
And like a flood His mercy rains
Unending love, Amazing grace

The Lord has promised good to me
His word my hope secures
He will my shield and portion be
As long as life endures

[2x]
My chains are gone
I've been set free
My God, my Savior has ransomed me
And like a flood His mercy rains
Unending love, Amazing grace

The earth shall soon dissolve like snow
The sun forbear to shine
But God, Who called me here below
Will be forever mine
Will be forever mine
You are forever mine

Thank you, Jotta for the inspiration. Truly, you are blessed.
