As a personal blog, there are articles written not just for the sole intention of writing but are also directed to share experiences to uplift and inspire the downtrodden.

We celebrated a great milestone in eConfluence's history on the 1st of April. Our first year anniversary beach party was not short of fun specially because important friends were there to share the moment with us.
The beach was very welcoming and it was a great summer Sunday to celebrate.
I had a speech prepared but the next hut was too noisy having the videoke machine at full blast that I had to shorten my prepared speech. But this was the full one I had wanted to share.
I am very happy for this opportunity to be with all of you today to celebrate eConfluence's first year anniversary.
Thank you for coming and sharing this celebration with us.
eConfluence started its unofficial operations on January of 2011. And as you saw in the video, our offices were places that had a table and power outlet; coffeeshops, hotels, restos, it didn't matter where it was because the business is first and foremost hardwork, and passion-driven. A system was slowly built from the ground up with only two people, the manager, and the human resource officer.
And I, along with a very few number of home-based transcriptionists worked tirelessly with them. We were later on joined by our Senior Editor.
Looking back now, it is easy to see that these same people are the ones who are still with us today. These are the people who have always been very patient and maintained a positive attitude through thick and thin and through ups and downs.
On April 14th of 2011, together with the launching of the website, we decided to officially mark that eConfluence's date of birth. And that's what we're here celebrating today.
My job as the IT Specialist is constantly compromised because of the fact that we're always short-handed, yet, I've never been happier to lose sleep or break limbs for the well-being of the company because I can see we are getting somewhere greater than what everyone might have expected.
Though it is note-worthy to say that while some still doubt our capacity to run a successful business, I am certain that this only pushes us to do better and achieve even more, always keeping the passion, drive and motivation close in our minds and hearts to not only give the best of what we can give, but to do it consistently, one day at a time and keeping in mind that we should never work as individuals, and rather work, always as a team.
Today, i am proud to say that through tough economic times, we have proven that sheer number of employees isn't always the only way to make money, but finding and keeping the right people with the right attitude for and in the company might just be as valuable or even more valuable.
As we mark our first year anniversary milestone today, I would like to personally thank each and everyone of you who in one way or another have given encouragement and support to keep our heads up despite through some tumultuous times we've gone through and to keep the company running as robust as we can.
To our workforce, always keep up the good job; and to everyone, this celebration today is for all of you. And I hope you all enjoy and have a good time with us. Thank you once again and have a great afternoon.
*****
The celebration ended with a wild videoke session and deflated party balloons.
If that face doesn't bring smile and happiness to your heart, I doubt anything will.
There's so many hatred and sadness around. And more than ever, it's difficult to dig in and look for that happy spot.
I really think we should get in the habit of looking on the bright side, and doing happy things. Anything, just making an effort, no matter how small it may seem and hopefully soon enough find that we're becoming a genuinely happier person.
I read this article entitled "Happiness is a Habit" and I wanted to share it with you guys. You might take a thing or two from it.
1. Live a simple life. Be temperate in your habits. Avoid self-seeking and selfishness. Make simplicity the keynote of your daily plans. Simple things are best.
2. Spend less than you earn. It may be difficult, but it pays large dividens in contentment. Keep out of debt. Cultivate frugality, prudence and self -denial. Avoid extravagance.
3. Think constructively. Train yourself to think clearly and accurately. Store your mind with useful thoughts. Stand porter at the door of your mind.
4. Cultivate a yielding disposition. Resist the common tendency to want your own way. See the other's viewpoint.
5. Be grateful. Begin the day with gratitude for your opportunities. Be glad for the privilege of life and work.
6. Rule your moods. Cultivate a mental attitude of peace and goodwill.
7. Give generously. There is no greater joy in life than to render happiness to others by means of intelligent giving.
8. Work with right motives. The highest purpose of your life should be to grow in spiritual grace and power.
9. Be interested in others. Divert your mind from self-centeredness. In the degree that you give, serve and help, you will experience the by product of happiness.
10. Live in a day tight compartment. That is live one day at a time. Concentrate on your immediate task. Make the most of today.
11. Have a hobby. Nature study, walking, gardening, music golfing, carpentry, stamp collecting, sketching, voice culture, public speaking, language, chess, books, photography, social service, travel, authorship. Cultivate an avocation to which you can turn for diversion and relaxation.
12. Keep close to God.
You don't want your life passing by and upon looking in, say to yourself, "What a wonderful life I've had, I just wish I realized sooner." Truth of the matter is, sadness can also be a habit, but nobody really cares if you're miserable, so might as well be happy!
I believe we all have different purposes in life. And we are fortunate how we're accessibly able to find inspiration from extra-ordinary people in unexpected places. The Kellys is such a wonderful family. They have a home built on strong faith, love and acceptance. And I'm glad Emmanuel Kelly took this step to share to the world the inspiration that he and his family eats, breathes and lives on.

Yey! Got a video recording of me and Appa playing wearing his first shirt. This was actually my 4th grade Physical Education uniform I altered a bit to fit him. He likes it! =)
Appa hesitatingly had another bath today. At his 12th month, I'm estimating his weight to be around 7 to 8 pounds now. I'll still need to weigh him in next week. I cleaned a scab developing in his right elbow with just alcohol because I didn't know what to apply on it. It's going to heal, I just need to keep it clean until it does. His crate smells like heaven and he's sleeping like a log right now in it. So what does my puppy have to do with a post entitled, "Emancipated"?
A lot actually.
I've never been the type of person to stay in a place that created problems for me. I'm a civilized person, but I don't have to like you if I thought you are not a good person. Life is easier and happier that way for me. And through unfaltering persistence, perseverance and hardwork, I've come to love the comfortable life I have where I have what I need and I can get what I want. I'm loving my lucky life. It's too short to waste it thinking about problems.
Appa has taught me there's so much more important things to be thinking about than fickle things, responsibilities to take, jobs to do, tasks to accomplish. I guess in a surreal way, he helped put things in perspective for me. Where do I put the problems? Nowhere. I turn my back altogether from it, always look forward at the brighter side of things, and do what must be done.
Today I learned how everything we need has already been given to us, the hands to mold, the feet to move, the heart to care and the mind to think. All the problems come when these four are misused. But once all four are used properly, there's no time for problems. There's not even enough time in the day to be happy. There's just pure emancipation.
If you can count the candles, that's not how old I am (LOL)
I'd forget my birthday if that was possible. I have a good life, but I am always thankful to God about that every single day so that's not just a birthday thing for me. Have you ever wondered about what is it really about birthdays that people get excited about?
Is the excitement coming from expecting some big, happy surprise to happen? I guess to some truth it gives stress and anxiety on the celebrant to be expecting something and when something falls short of what was expected happens, reasons to be sad start surfacing. I mean hey, I was also a kid once, so yeah, I know how disappointing that can be. But I grew up, the years passed, and through all the things I've been through, I found my birthdays to be easier to handle when nobody knew or remembered -- with the exception of family members of course.
There's always only Michael, my bestfriend who never seem to forget. And I'm already happy when he'd text 12 o'clock midnight to greet me, "Happy Birthday!"
But again today, reasons to be sad surfaced, just all sorts of things that gives me stress and anxiety. But these are things that happen not just today, on my birthday, but daily on regular basis. I guess unexpected events are bound to happen anytime (just your luck if it falls on your birthday!) but it's ultimately the celebrant who decides to choose how his or her birthday is going to be, happy or sad.
So I want to choose to be happy today no matter what. Mama and I have plans in the morning but it's starting to rain so I'm pushing that worried thought aside. I can celebrate my birthday wherever with mama and we can talk endlessly with not much sense and be laughing all day and be happy about it.
I choose to be happy today no matter what! So happy birthday to me! =)
This is late, but I'll take the time out to blog about Pilipinas Got Talent Season 2 champion, Marcelito Pomoy.
From his humble beginnings, Marcelito Pomoy instantly caught the attention of judges Kris Aquino, Ai-Ai De Las Alas, and Freddie Garcia with his ability to sing both male and female voices. Marcelito sang, "The Prayer" as his final performance on the stage of the Araneta Coliseum for the Pilipinas Got Talent Season 2 finale. Such performance earned him a standing ovation. Marcelito cried tears of joy hearing his name hailed as the grand champion. He thanked all the viewers who believed in his talent and voted for him. Making his triumph memorable was the presence of his father who was mostly absent during his growing years. Now, all that Marcelito could ask for is to finally have a complete family.
Marcelito garnered 19.56% of the votes winning him P2 Million. Second Place went to Happy Feet garnering 18.32% of the total text votes, and third Place went to Freestylers, with 9.46% of the total text votes.
Pilipinas Got Talent Season 3 audition starts immediately on July 9th, 2011.
Congratulations, Marcelito! You make the Philippines proud!
It gets tiresome sometimes, but I appreciate all the things you do for me and give to me. I feel unworthy saying I love you, but I do. That's why I'm always grateful for things you give me, great or small. People tell me You will never give me more than I can handle. So next year, do you think you can trust me just a little less? Thank you.
So after a hectically bustling millennia, I'm taking time out to write today! Yehey! Jam and May are having their 1st Wedding Anniversary today! And I wanted to take this opportunity to thank them in my own small way by writing this entry.
Friendships are always tangible, yet most are plausible or superficial. And in my lifetime, I am glad that I had the chance to meet these two people who really make a positive impact not only to me but to the people who surround them as well.
I can count with my fingers the people who always see the best in me, and who always believed I can do great things despite the frustrations and failures I harbor. And they're two of those.
People say that, the best things in life are free. And I believe that to be true, because their friendship came with no price tag, no conditions and no motives. Just plain, pure priceless treasure I'd describe as like a beautiful peridot gem I'll hold close with me for a long long long time.
And what a treat it is for me to be their business partner! When it rains blessings, it really pours. I'm blessed. And I feel lucky for having known you guys who personify the definition of passion, patience, and real hardwork.
Congratulations on your 1st Wedding Anniversary. May God shower you both with a lot more blessings of good health, fortune and many more anniversaries to come!
There was a TV special on the 13th I really wanted to see. It's a Valentine TV Concert named, Charice: Home for Valentine's, which I most unfortunately wasn't able to watch. I had to turn to YouTube for it. I can't say just how much joy it brought watching the whole 11 cuts of the entire TV Special.
I have the utmost admiration for this very talented young artist who captures the heart of everyone on everywhere she lays foot on. That night, during the concert, Filipinos all over the world sat down, watched in amazing bewilderment to a talent that we Filipinos did not recognize until Oprah introduced her to the world.
Today, I'm going to dedicate one full blog post taking time out from work to do this for Charice. And I hope she gets to read this someday. This one's for you Charice, for the limitless inspiration you bring to me, and to many others who find themselves struggling in continuing to go after their dreams.
The TV Concert started by, the network welcoming her and introducing her as an international singing sensation (talk about an understatement of the year). And she starts off with Celine Dion's "The Power of Love." Followed by Beyonce's "Halo." And just when I stated to think it couldn't get any better, she sang Bruno Mars' "Grenade," which I thought was out of her music genre, but did a spectacular performance of it.
Part 1/11:
The second part, she got her first chance to speak to the audience. For her international fans, I'm going to try to translate what she said as accurately as I can. Here she sang her own songs "Pyramid" and "Reset."
Part 2/11:
"Who's in your heart? [LAUGHS] You know, I've been everywhere abroad but when I'm here and I see you guys, I think I'm more nervous. They say it's more difficult to entertain the Filipinos. And I think that must really be true because I've been an amateur for quite sometime here. And I did not expect I'd be discovered in YouTube. Some of those are foreigners, of course. So please join me and let's spice everything up! And as I give you two songs taken from my first international studio album with my own name, Charice, here with me, here with me, here with me is a new rap star that young ones admire today, Elmo Magalona. Give it up!"
The third part is where she thanked the TV station for the Special TV Concert they did for her.
Part 3/11:
After thanking the organizers, this was what she said,
"I like to experiment on different types of songs. Old or new, each song I can change and put different styles. So here's a song that was recorded by Alicia Keys called, "If I Ain't Got You." And here to help me do that for you, is one of my favorite singers in our country, miss Rachelle Ann Go."
I just have to say that I feel sorry for anybody who performs in stage with Charice. She definitely outshines and outperforms them without effort. That's how good she is on stage.
After their number, Charice speaks again.
"Happy Valentines. Thank you. I froze there. Super talented. Anyway, everyone is talking about Glee. Yes. That's actually one of the best things in my career at this moment. So, of course, it also gave me the chance to not only sing but also to act. And actually my role in Glee is just like my own life. Because before when I went to school, I also wore glasses. And I went to auditions. So I went through those stuff. So when I auditioned for Glee, I mentioned that, before when I auditioned for singing contests, they didn't know where to place me whether in the adult division or in the small division, because when I tried the adult division, they said I was too small, when I tried the children's division, they said my voice was too big. So I asked, "Where do I place myself?" But I said, "I've been there before." So that's OK with me."
After that performance, she got her first standing ovation of the night. And I'd have to add that that rarely happens in the Philippines. So you'd understand why she basked in that moment for a short while longer.
Part 4/11:
Lady: Hi Charice! You're really, really so amazing. That song was awesome. I'm sure everyone in the audience was just so delighted. And you make each one of us very, very proud.
Charice: Thank you. Thank you.
Lady: So I have a question for you, Charice. Everybody knows how long you struggled to achieve your international status. So you are self made, you really worked hard. Could you tell us more about it?
Charice: I really, really worked hard. But of course, my mom has always been there with me through all the hard-work. My sibling has also been there. We were really needy before. I had to join contests not just in Laguna, I reached Batangas, I've gone through almost all the fiestas, we went to all those. I was very determined to win because otherwise, we wouldn't have fare to go back home. I experienced losing so we had to sleep over a stranger's house. It was a good thing that the following morning there was another singing contest. I won. So we were able to go home.
Lady: Wow.
Charice: Everybody knows that I did not win in big amateur contests here in the Philippines. But most fortunately, I earned some fans that time who really posted my performances in YouTube which South Korean show Star King saw. That's why they invited me.
I look so different now. Those promoters there who uploaded my videos in YouTube, please raise your hands. Don't be shy. There, those promoters who posted my videos, they are still with me until now. So thank you so much. Happy valentines to you. And I love you all.
Part 5/11:
Miss Oprah Winfrey's advice, she said, I was wearing a sparkling Converse, she said, "Nice shoes, Charice," Oh, I'll make that bolder, "Nice shoes, Charice. But always remember this, keep your feet on the ground, even if you're wearing nice shoes." So I'm really remembering that. And of course my mom, she always reminds me not to forget what I went through. Specially that time when we didn't have anything, when we experienced sleeping on the floor and borrowed bed from the neighbors. What, "Ahh?" But of course that time, I felt like my dreams would never come true.
"All By Myself" got her another standing ovation.
Part 6/11:
"One of my greatest regrets in my life is that I haven't been able to perform with one of my idols, the king of pop, Michael Jackson. But tonight, I am given a chance to perform with one of my favorites whose name is also Michael! This one is for all of you."
This part, I really want to say in behalf of Michael V.'s defense, he is not a singer. He's a local TV comedian. I thought it's not fair to judge him as a singer here as what I've read in some of the negative comments about this particular performance. This performance aimed to give fun and humor to the TV Concert while of course still showcasing Charice's versatility as an artist.
Part 7/11:
After thanking some important people in the audience this was what she said:
"I've gone through many concerts, tours, and even being a part of David Foster and friends, and performed together on stage with singing sensations like miss Celine Dion, Andrea Bocelli, and many others. But you know, this is the most requested number wherever I go, from Whitney Houston. I hope to be able to perform with her someday.
Part 8/11:
She introduced the country's Ultimate OPM Singer-Songwriter.
Charice: Ladies and gentlemen, please help me welcome, Ogie Alcasid. Louder. Complete with standing ovation.
Ogie: Good evening guys. You are amazing. Let's give her applause. You are amazing. How do you do those? Where is your voice coming from?
Charice: Hold on, I envy you kuya Ogie because you found your one true love, congratulations!
Ogie: Thank you. But I thought I'm in a Charice concert. Why does it seem like I'm in Alvin and the Chipmunks?
Charice: You're not mistaken. This is me, Charice. I only do that when I rehearse.
Ogie: Amazing what this girl can do. Sing, dance and that.
Charice: Thank you.
Ogie: What can you not do?
Charice: I don't know.
Ogie: Amazing Mahal.
Charice: Sorry, sorry.
Ogie: So good. All I can do is --
Charice: Hold on, I have a question. Why aren't you with ate Reg? Are you guys quarrelling?
Ogie: We didn't. She has a taping with Dingdong.
Charice: Something new to watch.
Ogie: Yes, something new to watch.
Charice: OK. Something new to look forward to.
Ogie: Can you sing in that voice? Can you try?
Charice: Yes, I can.
Ogie: You're such a winner, Charice!
Charice: Chechebureche. (gibberish)
Ogie: One of a kind, this kid.
Charice: Because I wanted to be a comedian like Mr. Michael, you guys are my favorite since I was little, until now.
Ogie: Until now. You want to join Bubble Gang? (local comedy TV show)
Charice: Until now that's my favorite.
Ogie: OK. Until now?
Part 9/11:
Pinky: Hi, Charice. How are you? I'm Pinky. Aside from your idols in singing, who else inspires you? And to whom do you really owe your success?
Charice: I have many inspirations like miss Ellen Degeneres because she's the first one who invited me in the States. Of course there's miss Oprah, sir David, of course the person who uploaded my video in YouTube, kuya Dave, FalseVoice, the show in Korea, Star King. But of course on top of it all, it's my mom who really inspires me. She inspires me a lot. That's why before I achieved all these achievements -- I remember the story when I first appeared for miss Oprah. We were on our way back to the Philippines, we were in the airplane from Chicago, there were two police who entered the airplane. They called, "Charice Pempengco?"
Mom asked, "Did you damage Oprah's doll?" I said, "No. Maybe because you took all the shampoo at the hotel." That time I didn't know you could get the shampoo. So then they brought us to the Harpo Studios. We were in the conference room and Oprah entered. She sat in front and said, "Tell me your story. I want to help you."
So that day, she called sir David Foster. And she granted everything in my dream journal because I love to draw. She granted everything in it. In my drawing were me and Celine Dion, me and Andrea Bocelli, me and Mariah, me and Michael Buble, Josh Groban. She granted all of that. So she's really like my fairy godmother. So I'm never going to be here if not for her. But of course, I really go after my mom. She's the one who taught me how to sing. So I want to thank you. Thank you mommy for all the love. I know your love life. But of course you're still my valentine.
Part 10/11:
"God has been so good to me. If it's really for you, He'll give it to you. You know that besides from being in the sequel, Alvin and the Chipmunks the movie, I was also with David Foster and friends. And this is the first ever international recording that Sir David Foster did for me with composer Diane Warren.
After "Note to God,"
Girl: Hi Charice.
Charice: Hi.
Girl: You have achieved so much in the past few years. What's next for Charice? Any new projects?
Charice: Right now, I'm not going to be able to answer until I have the go signal from my managers in the States. But I have a new song. Actually I have recorded a number of new songs. But of course we're looking for second single that can rival international songs like you know, songs of Rihanna, Katie Perry. So we're really busy with that. And I don't know where the Lord will take me. Everything He gave, in His own time. So that's also my advice to those who dream like me. It will come if you work hard and you are determined. Trust in God. When I started singing, I said, "Mommy, it's so hard to reach for my dreams." She said, "It'll come. Just don't lose hope."
This is the part where I just lost it. Like a roller coaster ride, she made me laugh, dance, sing, and here, teary-eyed.
You can see it in her. She's holding off tears right from the beginning of the song. It's so hard to attempt interpreting the lyrics in English specially that it's this song that made our idol and her mom cry. But I'm going to try as accurately as I can.

It must have been so hard holding back all those tears. And she almost wasn't able to finish the marvelous song. But not only did she finish it, she finished it brilliantly with all raw emotions kept inside with poise and pride. This part I think was really her winning moment. How fitting that song was for her. Everything came up to this. Victory made flesh. And did I mention she did all those live?
Part 11/11:
I'd like to thank GMA Network for this wonderful Valentine presentation they did for Charice. They made her shine all throughout from beginning to end. And I think it's a perfect Valentine gift for all Filipinos everywhere. All video footages here are courtesy of GMA 7. Thank you. I'd also like to acknowledge tmgtwlitepci who uploaded these videos in YouTube. May they forever serve their purpose to inspire everyone all over the world.
OK, so I'm guilty. I go to videoke bars too! Well, sometimes. This is one of those things I have in my "Life Checklist." There's 50 of them. So now, singing in public is done and checked. But I have to apologize about the poor audio quality. I hope to be able to sing this song again with a better audio quality next time. Ahem..
So after over a year of Google Ads applications, they finally approved it! A lot of you guys out there might wonder how it had been difficult for me to secure the Google Ad approval. Well, my blog includes videos and pictures and Google Ads have really strict compliance guidelines I over looked.
But I'm happy now that I'm finally able to run ads exclusively under Google Ads. I'm excited about that. Will be blogging more soon!
I was feeling the blues once more so I decided to browse YouTube to drown the loneliness away. This 1968 classic movie, "Star" movie clip caught my attention. Dame Andrews in "Someone to Watch Over Me," doing a stellar performance.
What happened to her voice today is a tragedy. That cyst operation in one of her vocal chords just completely took away everything she worked so hard for all those years. But listening to her singing here is such a joy.
A lot have been said about her but she still remains my Mary Poppins, the one who brings smiles to a weary heart. Her magic won't ever fade away no matter what.
I've come into terms that I'd get myself a pet. A puppy was what I really had in mind but guinea pigs have been a strong consideration because they are low maintenance and don't tend to be noisy.
So the other day, while in the mall, as usual I walked and stopped by the local pet store to play with the cute puppies for sale. When I moved by the area where they sell hamsters and rats, I was happy to see they also had guinea pigs this time. I rarely see them sell guinea pigs so I was excited.
I was smitten by their charm and playful disposition that I decided to adopt a pair immediately.
I had intentionally wanted to purchase a male and a female. But after close inspection when I got home, I was surprised to know both of them are females. "That's fine," I thought because I didn't want them getting plenty in a small room.
The black and white one is named, Lilo. She is the dominant female. The white brown and black is Stitch, she's the shy and silent one. The small wheel at the far end corner of the cage is their favorite place to sleep. And Lilo pushes Stitch away everytime she goes near, except when Lilo is distracted like for example here, during her eating time (which is all the time!)
They both love to eat carrots and some cabbages. Stitch doesn't like the pellets. Only Lilo eat those. But Lilo doesn't like to eat rice grains. Only Stitch eat those. Sometimes, I give them veggies, like in this photo tonight, I gave them carrots, cabbages and string beans.
I had positioned their cage on top of my table where I also have my laptop so I can watch over them when I'm on the computer working.
Shy Stitch, doesn't like the camera.
They are really adorable pets. When I hold them and pet them, gently touching the side of their bellies, they make a low and faint sound which I think means they like it, and they're happy. I leave them at home the entire day and when I come home, open the door and they hear me coming in, they make a louder squeeking sound like they are happy that I'm back home.
1-2-1-2-3-4
Give me more loving than I’ve ever had
Make me feel better when I’m feeling sad
Tell me I’m special even though I know I’m not
Make me feel good when I hurt so bad
Barely getting mad
I’m so glad I found you
I love being around you
You make it easy
Its as easy as 1-2-1-2-3-4
There’s only one thing
To Do
Three words
For you
(I love you) I love you
There’s only one way to say
Those three words
That’s what I’ll do
(I love you) I love you
Give me more loving from the very start
Piece me back together when I fall apart
Tell me things you never even tell your closest friends
Make me feel good when I hurt so bad
You’re the best that I’ve had
And I’m so glad I found you
I love being around you
You make it easy
It’s easy as 1-2-1-2-3-4
There’s only one thing
To Do
Three words
For you
(I love you) I love you
There’s only one way to say
Those three words
That’s what I’ll do
(I love you) I love you
(I love you) I love you
You make it easy
It’s easy as 1 2 1 2 3 4
There’s only one thing
To Do
Three words
For you
(I love you) I love you
There’s only one way to say
Those three words
That’s what I’ll do
(I love you) I love you
(I love you) I love you
1-2-3-4
I love you
(I love you)
A well deserved break from all the hustles and bustles these past weeks. The CUCC 3rd Anniversary/ CU MaxTrans Team Building was held at the Marvilla Beach Resort, Opol, Cagayan de Oro City.
We had organized for about 80+ people to join but I wasn't expecting for a lot of the agents and transcriptionists to come along. Surprisingly, about 50+ attended. So that's a decent number.
The party started a bit late but the ball was kept rolling by Francis and Rey
That's how weekends should be! hehe.. Thanks, you guys. I had a great time. Hope you did too!
