Plot Summary:Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief is a film adaptation of the first book on Percy Jackson & the Olympians novel franchise written by Rick Riordan with the same title. It tells the tale of a teenage boy named Percy Jackson (Logan Lerman) who discovered that he is a demi-god son of Poseidon (Kevin McKidd), god of the Sea. Zeus (Sean Bean) accused him of stealing the most powerful weapon of the gods, the lightning bolt. Percy is forced to embark on a cross-country adventure to save his mom, catch the lightning thief, and return the bolt to Zeus to prevent a destructive war of the gods.

Holding his trident made out of water.

My Review: Alright, so maybe I wasn't completely happy with the movie. But, I like it. I had a few issues with the sharp progression. I felt I wanted to get to know the characters a little bit more but because of its fast pace, I felt the movie was rushed.

The special effects were astounding. Medusa's role, portrayed by Uma Thurman also stood out for me. She provided a sultry performance which was frightening and funny at the same time.

Medusa caught unguarded.

I can't say Logan's performance was impeccable all throughout. But I feel he's only going to get better after this. There's a matinee idol brewing in there.

Battling the 4-headed hydra.

To sum it up, it's a good movie. Despite the "poor adaptation of the book to film," as others would say, I still find it very enjoyable to watch. Chris Columbus accomplished another great film.

Just like any other "book to film" adaptations, I would not recommend reading the book first before watching the movie, so as not to get disappointed.

Watch the movie first before reading the book!
